Talend Names new CEO, reinforces executive team

Talend has announced the appointment of Jim Foy, Talend’s Executive Chairman, as its new CEO. It also announced that Mike Sheridan, a seasoned sales and marketing executive, has joined the company as Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Co-founder and former CEO Bertrand Diard assumes the role of Chief Strategy Officer where he will focus on mapping the future strategy of the company to further strengthen its position as a leader in fast-growing markets such as Big Data.

With more than four decades of experience in the software technology sector, Foy joined Talend in February 2013 as Executive Chairman, bringing extensive experience building and growing successful private and public companies such as Constellation Software, Ardent, Davox and Aspect Software.

Sheridan joins the Talend team, bringing nearly 30 years of successful experience in sales and marketing for technology companies, including Aspect Software, Genesys Telecommunications Labs and Hewlett Packard. All sales and marketing functions at Talend will now report to Sheridan.

“Since joining the team, I have grown more and more impressed by what Talend has accomplished in such a short timeframe,” said Foy. “I look forward to working with the Talend team and helping to drive the company toward its aggressive growth plans and to reinforce our position as a leader in our market.”

“In record time, Talend has grown to be recognised as a leader and a visionary in the integration market,” said Bertrand Diard, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Talend. “I look forward to working with Jim as we continue our efforts to disrupt the market and bring innovative, scalable integration solutions to our customers.”

“As investors in Talend, we are very excited by the reinforcement of the executive team,” said Matthieu Baret, partner at Idinvest Partners. “In his new role as Chief Strategy Officer, Bertrand will be able to focus on devising the next game-changing innovations that have become Talend’s trademark over the years. Jim and Mike are proven leaders and we enthusiastically look forward to their impact in driving the continued growth of the company.”
