Virtustream xStream optimises VMware environments

Virtustream says that its cloud management software xStream can now be used to optimise VMware environments for mission-critical applications, enhance security and enable hybrid cloud environments. Virtustream reports that the xStream cloud management software, with its dynamic µVM (micro-VM) abstraction layer, reduces overhead expenditures by up to 40 percent and overall costs (hardware, licensing) by 25-30 percent; the solution also provides service level isolation beyond standard VMware virtualisation.

Virtustream xStream is optimised to deliver performance and availability SLAs for mission-critical applications. In addition, all Virtustream optimisations for VMware can be consumed via public cloud through Virtustream’s IaaS or via private cloud through Virtustream’s xStream Cloud Management software. xStream also provides simplified management of private, public or hybrid cloud environments and has enhanced capabilities that include service catalog, multi-tenancy, multi-site, security, GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) and chargeback features.
