Tintri names Ken Klein as Chairman and Chief Executive

Former CEO of Wind River will lead Tintri’s next phase of expansion; Co-Founder Kieran Harty named Chief Technology Officer.

Tintri announces the appointment of Ken Klein as the company’s new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Klein, who has been on the Tintri board of directors since August 2011, joins Tintri as the company completes its largest quarter to date. Former CEO and founder, Kieran Harty assumes the new role of Chief Technology Officer and will drive Tintri’s product strategy and roadmap.


Known for evolving startups into global industry leaders, Mr. Klein is a technology industry veteran with over 20 years of experience. He most recently was President of Wind River Systems, where he was responsible for the management of more than 1,800 employees in over 20 countries. During his tenure, he doubled the revenue at Wind River and the company was acquired by Intel for nearly $1B. Prior to Wind River, Ken served as Chief Operating Officer and board member of Mercury Interactive for 12 years. Mr. Klein and his team built Mercury from a pre-revenue startup into a software powerhouse with revenues approaching $1B before being acquired by Hewlett-Packard for $5B.

Tintri has seen strong enterprise customer adoption of its Zero Management Storage™ solutions over the past two years, including accounts such as AMD, F5 and Kawasaki. Through the first three quarters of 2013, Tintri experienced 120% growth over the same period last year, and in the most recent quarter added more new customers than in any prior quarter.With new products announced last week, the company is in an optimal position for future growth.
