Sunset+Vine protects its data

Sunset+Vine, a leading global supplier of sports broadcast programming, has agreed to protect its data offsite using Securstore’s Cloud Backup solution. With over 30 years broadcasting history and as the production partner for BT Sport’s live Barclays Premier League Football, Aviva Premiership Rugby and the host broadcaster for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, it had to ensure its data remained safe, secure and compliant with UK data protection laws.

Sunset+Vine with four UK offices, have won over 35 broadcast awards including 5 BAFTA’s and 9 Royal Television Society awards. As a well respected worldwide establishment with key deliverables to customers, Sunset+Vine had to choose a suitable provider to form a long standing IT partnership. Securstore’s global client base and similar work ethic provided the perfect fit for both parties.

Securstore supports all major operating systems, applications and most recently, support for cloud based services such as Google Apps and Salesforce. In addition, virtual environments such as VMware and Hyper-V can be backed up, as well as laptops, tablets and smartphones. The scalability factor is important for modern companies like Sunset+Vine, as backup must keep up with the pace of IT infrastructure developments in the corporate and enterprise market.

Ashraf Aboukass, Head of Infrastructure and Security at Sunset+Vine, said, “Data is valuable to any business, there is no denying that, however in our case it is even more crucial due to the nature of the service we offer for our clients. In simple terms nothing can be lost, so in the event of a disaster we have to be able to get our data back quickly and efficiently. We carried out a thorough due-diligence process on many Cloud Backup providers and Securstore was selected for our business needs; their focus on recovery with personalised technical support were the key factors for us.”

Securstore’s solution complies with all major security standards including Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), PCI and the Data Protection Act (DPA). The company is also regularly audited by BSI Group for ISO 27001, the international standard for an Information Security Management System (ISMS). This means its processes and procedures are independently checked to ensure the risk of security and threats is negated. BSI Group is accredited by UKAS, which is the only body recognised by the UK Government, a standard that is extremely important for data protection.

Alexander Eiriksson, Chief Executive Officer at Securstore, finished, "The market is rapidly changing and there is an abundance of companies offering online protection on the back of the Cloud Computing boom. The key differential is that this is not like any other product or service that businesses will purchase. For example, it is about protecting core assets as opposed to choosing the cheapest energy supplier. We need to educate and deliver on this niche aspect of the Cloud, and work as a business partner to our customers; we welcome Sunset+Vine to the Securstore family and look forward to protecting their data.”
