OneCockpit, NextiraOne’s new flagship monitoring and management service, has been further enhanced with the addition of a raft of new technologies and applications that can be proactively managed through the service. The move significantly broadens the scope of OneCockpit, which has been developed to give organisations end-to-end, real-time visibility of their infrastructure and provide early warning of potential performance problems before the activities of the organisation are impacted. NextiraOne, Europe’s leading expert in communications services, has been enjoying runaway success with OneCockpit and has continued the momentum with version 2 of the service, released within three months of the initial launch.

Designed and developed in-house by NextiraOne experts, OneCockpit is a unique and comprehensive information systems monitoring and management service that combines a wide range of technologies in one interface. It gives both an overview of the entire infrastructure and detailed information on a wide range of key technologies through a single interface, including applications, data centre solutions, and collaboration systems OneCockpit revolutionises the ability of IT leaders to improve infrastructure and application performance, giving real-time access to what is going on in the digital heart of their information systems. It allows them to take timely, pre-emptive actions to deal with issues, to smooth out bottle-necks and under-utilisation, and thereby to help improve productivity and reduce costs.

“The launch of OneCockpit was a direct response to the growing need of CIOs for coherent performance monitoring,” said Shaun Ledgerwood, Vice President Business Development & Services at NextiraOne. “Businesses may already have a range of performance monitoring tools at their disposal; what they lack is a consolidated service that allows them a real-time, bird’s eye view of their infrastructure as well as the ability to go deeper, pre-empt failures, and diagnose the causes of outages.”

“As one of Europe’s biggest Managed Services experts, we have gathered all our expertise into one service that meets the need for an end-to-end approach,” continues Shaun Ledgerwood. “OneCockpit allows CIOs to understand what is happening in the network irrespective of the technology, device or location. The key challenge that OneCockpit resolves is in making complex environments simple, transparent and easy to manage, on a global scale.”

With its second release, OneCockpit adds ten new technologies and applications which complete end-to-end monitoring and management for a range of solutions, including entire Data Centre solutions, Collaboration technologies and Applications. Version 2 enhances OneCockpit’s support for Collaboration solutions with the addition of Avaya systems, Cisco Business Edition 6000 (BE6K), Alcatel OTBE, and AudioCodes gateways. The new version has also strengthened the range of Data Centre technologies supported, by adding NetApp storage solutions. By combining this with Cisco Nexus &UCS and VMware technologies already introduced in the launch edition, OneCockpit now also covers all NextiraOne’s solutions that are based on FlexPod and ExpressPod. This means that OneCockpit is able to provide wide-reaching coverage for the latest packaged solutions from all leading manufacturers, in both the collaboration and data centre spaces. It therefore continues to address extended markets and the changing needs of NextiraOne’s customers, thereby significantly differentiating OneCockpit from all other monitoring and management offerings.

In terms of network infrastructure solutions, NextiraOne’s OneCockpit already supports Local Area and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN) and wireless infrastructures, with Version 2 adding Cisco and Alcatel Wireless, and Cisco CBQoS and IPSLA, collecting information on the quality of the network around all Cisco-based networking solutions designed and implemented by NextiraOne. In addition OneCockpit Version 2 covers applications including Microsoft Exchange. OneCockpit monitors Microsoft Exchange servers as well as application processes and services, providing greater visibility on performance and supporting a better end-user experience in collaborative working environments.

With Version 2 now in place, OneCockpit provides a dashboard and management platform for the entire multi-technology infrastructure of most network environments. With further enhancements already in the pipeline, NextiraOne will continue to evolve OneCockpit to meet the needs of organisations as new technologies emerge.
