Syncsort extends partnership with Hortonworks

Syncsort has announced that its high-performance Apache Hadoop-based product line, DMX-h ETL Edition, is now certified on Hortonworks Data Platform 2.0 (HDP 2.0) with YARN. This integration provides a powerful combination that helps enterprises reduce costs and better leverage information across the enterprise.

“Hadoop is being adopted by innovative technology leaders within mainstream enterprises because it offers the fastest path to unlocking significant value from Big Data,” said John Kreisa, vice president of strategic marketing, Hortonworks. “The integration between HDP 2.0 and Syncsort’s powerful Hadoop-based product line provides enterprises with a seamless way to efficiently move data transformation workloads into Hadoop.”

To make it simple for customers to evaluate the joint solution, a test drive of DMX-h is available to download and deploy in the Hortonworks Sandbox today. Users of Hortonworks Sandbox ? an easy-to-use, hands-on learning environment for Apache Hadoop in the enterprise ? can get the DMX-h ETL software, step-by-step install instructions, documentation and sample applications & data by visiting http://www.syncsort.com/hortonworks.
“Customers are embracing Hadoop as the de-facto platform for Big Data,” said Bryan Ashley, vice president business development, Syncsort. “This announcement brings the power and ease-of-use of Syncsort’s Hadoop product line, DMX-h, to HDP 2.0 and YARN.”

Syncsort also continues to participate in Hortonworks Certified Technology Program, which simplifies big data planning by providing pre-built and validated integrations between leading enterprise technologies and HDP. Certified technologies are reviewed for architectural best practices, validated against a comprehensive suite of integration test cases, benchmarked for scale under varied workloads and comprehensively documented.
