NEC enhances carrier cloud services portfolio for telecom

NEC Europe has announced an agreement with Google to enhance NEC’s cloud services portfolio for telecom operators by adding Google Apps for Business to its line-up.

Customers of NEC’s Cloud Brokerage Suite, a self-service cloud distribution and support platform for telecom operators, will benefit from a variety of new applications from Google such as Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, Google+ and Apps Vault.

Today NEC’s Cloud Brokerage Suite features a rich catalogue of more than 150 Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), offering a diversity of e-mail, back-up, video conferencing, push-to-talk, mobile/PC security, marketing, storage, CRM, mobile couponing, billing and fleet management software applications and more. The platform also allows operator to seamlessly cross-sell these cloud services and traditional telco services, such as mobile, landline and broadband connectivity services.

“With more than 20 commercial projects around the world, NEC is the Carrier Cloud platform market leader, specializing in helping telecom operators boost revenues with new cloud-based software for SMEs,” said Manuel Gallo, Director of Strategy & Business Development, EMEA Cloud Competence Centre, NEC Europe Ltd. “We are delighted to have Google Apps for Business on board with us.
