PernixData partners with Commtech

PernixData has appointed Commtech to distribute the company’s FVP™ software in the UK and Ireland. As part of the new relationship, Commtech and PernixData will co-invest in technical support staff, sales and market development activities to facilitate the adoption of storage acceleration software in these markets.

“Commtech specialises in disruptive storage technologies, which makes PernixData a perfect fit for our portfolio of products”, Mark Walker, UK Country Manager, Commtech. “By decoupling storage performance from capacity, FVP software changes the way storage is designed in virtual data centres, resulting in faster applications at lower costs. FVP software belongs in every virtualised server in the UK and Ireland, and we are committed to work with PernixData to build a world class channel to achieve this goal.”

PernixData FVP software, the premier platform for VM-aware storage acceleration, virtualises high speed server resources like flash into a clustered acceleration tier that enables IT administrators to quickly, easily and cost-effectively scale-out storage performance completely independent of storage capacity. The result is unprecedented read and write performance for all virtual machines (VMs), without the need to change existing server and storage infrastructure. By creating a new software based infrastructure for server side storage intelligence, PernixData fundamentally changes how storage is designed and operated in virtual data centres.
“We are excited to be working with Commtech to expand PernixData’s presence in the UK and Ireland”, says Jeff Aaron, vice president of marketing at PernixData. “Commtech has a successful history bringing ground breaking technologies to market, which will prove invaluable as PernixData expands its footprint globally.”
