KDDI Corporation selects Cleversafe dsNet® Object Storage

Launched in 2012’s first half, the subscription-based au Cloud service provides highly reliable and secure storage to KDDI customers. To ensure continuous data availability, KDDI required a storage system that could respond to any unexpected hardware or software failure without impacting performance.

With its growth rate in its subscriber base and subscriber-generated content, KDDI also needed a system that could easily expand to accommodate growing storage demands. Cleversafe’s patented Information Dispersal technology allowed KDDI to meet its requirements cost-effectively.

“Extensive research on Cleversafe’s technology and customer base ensured us that its solutions could meet our rigorous requirements for high reliability, availability and cost-effectiveness,” said Akihito Fujii, KDDI’s general manager of Cloud Service Development. “We evaluated many solution options from a wide range of companies, including incumbent vendors. Ultimately, we decided Cleversafe best fit our needs. Cleversafe continues to exceed our expectations with its technology and level of customer service.”

“We are thrilled that KDDI has selected our storage technology for its au Cloud service,” said John Morris, president and CEO of Cleversafe. “As one of the leading Japanese telecommunications operators, KDDI’s standards for performance and efficiency are very high and its selection of our technology reinforces our leadership position in the object storage industry.”
