Barracuda Networks, Inc. will offer advanced application security on Barracuda Load Balancer ADC models 540 and above at no additional cost. This move signifies a new approach in the application delivery market, making advanced security available to organisations at an affordable cost.
Traditional Application Delivery Controller (ADC) platforms can force customers to make a choice between budget and security, which may lead to compromised security. Barracuda’s new approach allows organisations purchasing Barracuda Load Balancer ADC models 540 and above to include this advanced application security automatically, giving customers the option of scaling layer 7 application security while managing traffic in their data centres.
“As IT security needs evolve, it is no longer sufficient to consider security as a separate conversation from application performance. Customers shouldn’t have to choose performance over securing their applications,” said Stephen Pao, GM security, Barracuda. “We believe that by offering this tightly integrated advanced application security on our Barracuda Load Balancer ADC, we’ve made the decision easier for customers to benefit from high performance and advanced security in one affordably priced solution.”

In addition to providing authentication, authorisation and accounting (AAA) capabilities, the Barracuda Load Balancer ADC also includes the following advanced application security capabilities: OWASP Top 10 protection, outbound Data Loss Prevention (DLP) monitoring, and application DDoS protection.
