Violin Memory announces Flash Acceleration option

Violin Memory®, Inc. has announced a new enterprise-grade solution for SAP® Adaptive Server® Enterprise (SAP ASE) and SAP IQ software. Violin Memory Arrays for SAP ASE and SAP IQ can deliver more than 10X performance acceleration and up to 90 per cent operating expense reduction over legacy disk-based architectures and environments. The Flash Acceleration Option is now available for SAP ASE and SAP IQ workloads utilizing Violin Flash Arrays.

The Flash Acceleration Option delivers an optimized configuration in support of SAP ASE and SAP IQ as well as priority support for users. Customers who move database workloads onto platforms equipped with Violin Storage may achieve 10X application acceleration, with a reduction of over 60 per cent in power, cooling, and space consumption, as well as a reduction in storage footprint of up to 90 per cent.

Violin Flash Memory Arrays are available from Violin Memory. The Acceleration Option for Flash is now available from SAP and its ecosystem partners. Flash storage arrays from Violin Memory are also delivered as the shared storage option for the FUJITSU Power Appliance for SAP ASE.
