Privatbanka chooses high uptime enterprise solution from Proact

Privatbanka needed to create a robust server and storage infrastructure to further increase the uptime of their data and application streams. After a call for tenders, the company selected Proact.

Privatbanka is the first bank in Slovakia aiming to provide private banking services. It has also been operating in the Czech Republic since 2009 thanks to a subsidiary located in Prague. It provides clients with specialised financial and investment services which reflect their exact requirements and meet their expectations with regard to increasing the value of their assets.

After an initial analysis, the most appropriate solution was a combination of a virtualized server environment in combination with a robust storage solution which together with a transparent disaster recovery solution ensures high uptime. The infrastructure is now split between two separate locations eight kilometres apart which are interconnected by means of an optic fibre solution. Data is fully replicated between the two locations so as to ensure continued service in the event of one of the data centres being destroyed or damaged. The new Proact solution has ensured not only increased uptime but also faster data and application backups, as well as making the whole environment easier to manage and reducing operating costs.
