Quorum, a leader in instant application recovery, today announced the appointment of David Fisk as EMEA sales director. Fisk will be responsible for overseeing operations and accelerating growth throughout the EMEA region. His appointment follows the company’s expansion into Europe and launch of its hybrid-cloud disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS), the first in the UK market.
Under Fisk’s leadership, Quorum will bring its rapid U.S. growth trajectory to the UK and then across EMEA. Fisk has more than 30 years’ experience working in the EMEA technology market and has a flair for increasing sales across the region. Prior to joining Quorum he spent 13 years at Quest Software. Here he impressed Toba partners by managing a sales team of 30 and bringing in revenues of around $100million/ year. His strong track record made him an obvious choice to bring products to market for Quorum, which is also backed by the visionary venture capitalist, Toba Capital.
Fisk is tasked with expanding Quorum’s channel programme throughout the region and is currently in talks with a major distributor for its onQ hybrid cloud solution. The platform was originally developed for US navy warships to ensure that on-ship computers never ‘go down’ during combat. The highly robust technology is today designed for midmarket organisations that need reliable disaster recovery as much as large enterprises, but without the complexity or high costs associated with traditional data centre replication.
Fisk said: “Many organisations today need a highly available disaster recovery solution but without the traditional price tag or complications – Quorum is plugging a gap in the market with its simple to manage and cost effective platform. It’s an exciting time to join the company and we are recruiting a select group of quality channel partners to bring the product to the UK market for the first time. We operate 100 per cent through the channel so it’s very important for us to develop strong working relationships with our partners and help them achieve strategic goals with us.”
Tony Craythorne, vice president of worldwide sales, Quorum commented on the appointment: “David has an impressive track-record when it comes to working across borders and has a true understanding of his market. Having managed his own companies he also has an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for transforming a young business into a high performing one. We look forward to seeing him develop relationships with our new and existing partners as Quorum establishes its presence in the UK and throughout EMEA.”
