Higher reliability and performance for SMBs

Infortrend® has announced the launch of 12-bay/16-bay EonStor DS 1000R storage systems with dual redundant controllers for high availability and greater performance, offering redundancy and multiple cache backup technologies, and diverse hardware configurations to allow customisation to individual SMBs’ storage needs and budgets.

EonStor DS 1012R/1016R systems utilise redundant controllers and power supplies. For emergency backup in the event of a prolonged power outage, customers can choose Super Capacitors or a hot-swappable BBU (battery backup unit). Both keep data caches powered over long periods for recovery even after major disruptions. Enterprise-class data services are included: snapshot, volume copy/mirror, and more. Products also support remote replication.

The EonStor DS 1000R systems exceed the performance of previous-generation EonStor DS G6 systems and are capable of up to 380K IOPS, 5,500MB/s read, and 1,900MB/s write. Users can further enhance these arrays by installing SSDs, for which the systems are performance optimised. Modular design enables customisation to allow organisations to get the system they need for their specific applications. Four 1Gb/s iSCSI ports are standard, with hybrid support: users can choose another interconnect from 10Gb/s iSCSI, 8Gb/s or 16Gb/s FC, or 6Gb/s SAS. Additional EonStor DS 1000 form factors will release later this year.

“We are very excited to deliver the new EonStor DS 1000 series to the market as it opens up a new horizon of opportunities for users with different budgets to harness the power of enterprise storage”, said Teddy Lin, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing at Infortrend Europe.
