A new “pay as you go” cloud model aiming to completely transform the disaster recovery market has been launched by Silverstring, the data protection optimisation specialist.
As part of its TSM IN THE CLOUD® platform – Silverstring is offering TSM users the first fully-automated disaster recovery application on an instant-access, pay-by-the-hour basis. TSM-users will be able to completely automate their disaster recovery orchestration and testing while achieving greater control over costs through total transparency in billing and reporting.
“Silverstring is ripping up the rulebook about disaster recovery and data protection, making it easier than ever for an enterprise organisation using TSM to enter the cloud,” says CEO Alistair Mackenzie.
“It will reduce costs as businesses need only pay for what they are using, whereas currently, enterprises are paying six figure sums for unnecessary storage and backup in what is little more than a tick-box insurance policy offering no real benefit.
“On top of that, TSM IN THE CLOUD®’s push-button automation and easily understood interface provide an instantly accurate picture of whether an organisation’s disaster recovery will work. Traditional disaster recovery testing by contrast, takes days and causes major disruption to everyday business operations.”
Through its unique interface, customers using TSM IN THE CLOUD® will have a comprehensive view of an enterprise’s data protection success rate and a detailed breakdown of costs, giving full confidence in all disaster recovery functions and fulfilment of regulatory requirements.
The application’s multi-tenancy data protection options also mean local backup can be combined with replication to the cloud to give an enterprise-level hybrid solution.
TSM IN THE CLOUD®’s Disaster Recovery-as-a-service application will be rolled out around the world through Silverstring’s network of global partners offering hands-on engineers and service packages.
