Riverbed delivers Microsoft Azure Certified solution

Riverbed Technology has announced another product from the Riverbed Application Performance Platform is now Microsoft Azure Certified. Now, customers can deploy Microsoft Azure Certified Riverbed® SteelApp™ Traffic Manager, Riverbed’s virtual application delivery controller (ADC). SteelApp Traffic Manager joins the Microsoft Azure Certified Riverbed® SteelHead™, for cloud-based WAN optimization, announced in July. These products are part of the Riverbed Application Performance Platform, Riverbed’s set of solutions that enable customers to analyze, diagnose and resolve application, network and end-user performance issues anywhere across the hybrid enterprise.

As enterprises continue to move toward a hybrid model, they face a range of new performance challenges, including architectural complexity, distribution of resources across private and public data centers and blind spots for support, management and security. Now, by deploying Riverbed SteelApp and SteelHead in Azure, customers can take advantage of the cost-savings and agility of the cloud, while also solving the performance challenges: optimizing and accelerating the delivery of applications from Azure to business locations faster, using less bandwidth, and with greater security; and optimizing, accelerating and customizing web experiences and interactions.

“Customers interested in extending their enterprise to support workloads in the cloud on Azure now have access to Riverbed’s products to improve SaaS performance while keeping costs down and simplifying manageability in the cloud,” said Jeff Pancottine, senior vice president and general manager, SteelApp at Riverbed.
“As Azure works to erase the boundaries between cloud development and operational management, partners like Riverbed provide the application performance infrastructure that optimizes the end user’s experience when apps are delivered via the cloud,” said Garth Fort, general manager of Enterprise Partners, Microsoft. “In today’s cloud-first world, applications should be accessed and delivered quickly, securely and cost effectively, and Riverbed provides the cloud application performance infrastructure that makes this happen.”

Riverbed SteelApp, SteelHead and the Riverbed Application Performance Platform™
Riverbed SteelApp and SteelHead are part of the Riverbed Application Performance Platform™, the most complete platform to enable organizations to embrace location-independent computing, so that business objectives – not technical constraints – drive how applications and data are delivered.

Riverbed SteelApp provides control of traffic to and from applications, enabling fast, reliable and secure application delivery to users anywhere from the cloud or data center. It is a complete software-based Layer 7 application delivery controller (ADC) with integrated web content optimization (WCO) and web application firewall (WAF) that enables companies to deliver optimized and secure application delivery services where and when they are needed in an elastic manner.

Riverbed SteelHead is the industry’s #1 WAN optimization solution that helps IT ensure optimal service levels for applications among data centers, branch locations, cloud networks and end users. SteelHead, further, allows IT to prioritize delivery of mission-critical applications over the best available network with customized per-application service level agreements (SLAs). SteelHead pioneered WAN optimization in 2004 with unique innovations for application, transport, and data streamlining across the WAN and Internet to deliver the best end-user experience regardless of location while dramatically reducing network bandwidth costs.
