International law specialist to deploy NTT Enterprise Cloud

NTT Communications announces global agreement with law firm King & Wood Mallesons.

NTT Communications has announced a new global agreement with international law firm King & Wood Mallesons. The deal will see King & Wood Mallesons deploy NTT Com’s innovative, seamless and self-manageable cloud solution, Enterprise Cloud, throughout the company’s newly-expanded worldwide network for website hosting and providing a law content portal on a global scale.

King & Wood Mallesons is one of the top 25 law firms in the world, with more than 2,700 lawyers and 550 partners in more than 30 international offices across the world, including China, Hong Kong, Australia, the United Kingdom, continental Europe, the Middle East, Japan, and the US.

The agreement, which came through the King & Wood Mallesons London office, also addresses the law firm’s requirement for a partner capable of simultaneously addressing both its global footprint and Chinese office presence.

Bob Welton, Regional Director, NTT Europe, commented, “We are delighted to have agreed such a progressive deal with one of the world’s leading international law firms. King & Wood Mallesons is a truly global company and needs to share global law content – and NTT Enterprise Cloud is the perfect solution for that”.

The deal will see NTT Com provide King & Wood Mallesons with its Enterprise Cloud solution to enable the law firm’s global consolidation of IT services, hosting and content delivery. The company’s multiple sites around the world can now be gathered together within an enterprise-level, cloud-based solution delivered by one supplier – simplifying the procurement process and centralizing end-to-end systems.

Terry Lawley, Business Innovation Team Manager at King & Wood Mallesons, said: “Being an international law firm, practising in many countries around the world, means we need to deliver content globally and seamlessly but also be mindful of local-level regulations such as data sovereignty. We needed a partner who could help us deliver this seamless global content while retaining compliance in specialised markets like China. NTT Communications was the obvious choice given its experience in enterprise cloud computing and its global footprint”.

“This agreement is great news for both King & Wood Mallesons as they look to develop their global operations and also for NTT Communications as it emphasizes our capabilities in supporting progressive companies on a worldwide scale”, said Len Padilla, Vice President Product Strategy, NTT Europe. “Thanks to our global network we have the presence and expertise to assist international entities like King & Wood Mallesons. Our ability to support them at a local level throughout Asia – for example the NTT Communications data center in Wuxi will support King & Wood Mallesons’ China operations – and around the rest of the world was a key factor in their selection of NTT Enterprise Cloud”.

NTT Communications Enterprise Cloud can be managed with a single global contract and additional services for ICT, applications management and managed security can be integrated seamlessly on a per-usage basis. This means that King & Wood Mallesons can enjoy a unified global ICT infrastructure that can be quickly modified to meet changing requirements.
