PernixData FVP Software certified as VCE Vblock Ready

PernixData says that PernixData FVP™ software is now certified as a Vblock Ready solution through the VCE Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) programme. The TAP programme is designed for independent software vendors, hardware manufacturers, virtual appliance vendors and other technology providers looking to simplify and accelerate their solutions for deployment with VCE Vblock Systems.

VCE Vblock Systems provide rapid deployments and dramatically lower IT costs by offering pre-integrated, pre-tested and pre-validated IT infrastructures that combine best-in-class compute, network, storage, data protection and virtualisation technologies from Cisco, EMC and VMware, delivered as a single product with unified support.

PernixData FVP software complements VCE Vblock Systems by putting storage intelligence into server flash and RAM to accelerate the performance of all Virtual Machines (VMs). In addition, FVP clusters server media across hosts to ensure seamless VM mobility and 100% fault tolerance. FVP software is installed inside the hypervisor kernel, without modifying VMs or changing any Vblock System components.

“VCE Vblock Ready certification provides PernixData customers with the assurance that FVP software has been rigorously tested by VCE and can seamlessly interoperate with Vblock Systems to accelerate the performance of all virtualised applications,” said Mike Arterbury, Vice President of Business Development and Alliances at PernixData. “As storage acceleration software becomes a de-facto standard in all virtualised data centres, we are pleased to be working with partners like VCE to ensure seamless deployment of the PernixData solution with leading data centre products.”

"It is great to see two industry leaders like PernixData and VCE work together to ensure product interoperability,” said Eric Kaplan, CTO, Ahead. “The combined solution helps our customers improve application performance and lower storage costs in a simple and scalable way.”

“VCE is pleased to welcome PernixData as a Technology Alliance Partner for VCE Vblock Systems,” said D.J. Long, senior director, Technology Alliances, VCE. “As a VCE TAP partner, PernixData can now integrate its software with Vblock Systems, delivering transformative data centre solutions for mutual customers that enable the agility, simplicity and economics of converged infrastructure with PernixData’s expertise in virtual machine acceleration.”

VCE works with Superna™ to conduct and administer Vblock System certifications for VCE TAP programme members. This certification enables mutual channel partners and customers to accelerate adoption of Vblock Systems while leveraging PernixData FVP software for optimised VM performance that scales-out cost-effectively with compute resources.
