Cabling configurator

Excel Networking Solutions, the copper, optical cabling and rack solutions provider, has launched a new online configurator to make it easy for customers to choose the exact fibre pre-terminated cables they need.

Earlier this year Excel launched the EXCELERATOR pre-terminated fibre range including Distribution cables, Breakout cables, Mini-Breakout cables and MTP. With this extensive range and so many options to choose from Excel felt the need to make it easier for customers by producing an online configurator.

The Excelerator Configurator takes the user through a number of simple steps including whether they require an Assembly or MTP Trunk, the Construction i.e. Distribution, Breakout and Mini-Breakout, Category i.e. OM3, OM4 or OS2, No. of cores, Connector types and Lengths and Quantities. Once the details have been entered the configurator produces a diagram of the cable and provides a cable specification which can be emailed through to the team at Excel to receive a quotation.

Tracey Calcutt, Marketing Manager commented ‘With so much choice and so many options with our pre-terminated range it was imperative that we introduced a tool such as the configurator to assist our customers. Speed and accuracy are essential at each stage and this starts with the customer choosing the right product, and being able to see a diagram of the cable specification really assists them and us to understand exactly what they need.’

Calcutt concluded ‘We’ve had a great response to the Excelerator range so far, the products help to significantly reduce installation time on site and they are backed with the 25 year warranty when installed by an accredited partner.’
