iomart's Manchester-based provider of complex cloud and managed hosting solutions Melbourne has helped Flubit architect a highly secure private cloud solution for its unique demand led e-commerce platform which creates better offers for online shoppers.
Flubit users typically 'demand' a better offer by pasting a web link for the product they want from Amazon.co.uk. Flubit creates a better price for the item. Flubit has already created savings of just under £3 million for its users and diverted hundreds of thousands of orders to its marketplace of independent UK online retailers. It recently went live with its first major partnership with Barclaycard's Bespoke Offers.
Aaron Beadle, Head of Infrastructure and Technology for Flubit, says, "We have just moved the entire platform from shared cloud hosting to a private cloud solution to give us greater control over provisioning and costs and to meet the greater security requirements being placed upon us by our partners."
Matt Gardiner, Sales & Services Director for Melbourne, said: "Our technical team has worked closely with Flubit to ensure they have the necessary security and latency to support their unique etail business as they grow and develop relationships with bigger partners."
Flubit has a huge automated platform with more than 40 VMs, seven dedicated machines and four databases with security systems ranged all over the infrastructure.
Aaron Beadle of Flubit continues, "For me you have to look at the bigger picture with your hosting provider not just the cost. You have to look at your confidence in their team, your confidence in their support and Melbourne give you all of that."
Having raised £9 million in investment, Flubit is focusing on building new technologies and continually improving the experience for users, as well as customer growth and increasing its merchant base. It has just launched an 'Instant Offer' option, allowing customers to receive immediate discounts on products.
