Research from Contingency Planning & Strategic Research Corporation found that 96 per cent of all business workstations are not being backed up. Further research from PricewaterhouseCoopers found that seven out of ten small firms that experience a major data loss go out of business within a year.

The Acronis platform will allow HEG to offer it’s more than one million small and medium sized customers a fully integrated alternative to complicated in-house storage systems, securely hosted in HEG’s state of the art data centre facilities. HEG will offer full system image backups, allowing users to back up all applications, files, and user accounts into one compressed file. There will also be an easy recovery so that users can restore their PCs in an instant, with no additional tools needed. Other features include personal key encryption, cloud backup and universal restore, allowing users to move their system to any PC, no matter the make or model.

‘We are committed to tackling the growing need for small businesses in particular to protect their most important information. As we move towards more flexible working environments, there is a greater threat of damage or loss to single machines. This partnership will help to expand HEG’s offering to businesses and individuals by going beyond securing website and critical data, to files and applications on PCs. This web-based service will allow customers to securely back up their most important files to our data centres, giving them added peace of mind,’ said Dr. Andreas Palm, CEO Mass Hosting, HEG.
‘HEG is a market leader in the European hosting space and we are delighted to be able to announce this partnership. Team with HEG will allow us to build on our momentum of bringing security to both businesses and individuals. Working together, we can help to deliver a critical customer need,’ added John Zanni, Acronis Senior Vice President & Cloud General Manager.
HEG and Acronis will commence their partnership in 2015 with the intention on launching across HEG’s key brands.
