BeyondTrust has appointed Dr. Ronald D. Sugar, former Northrop Grumman Chairman and CEO, to the company’s Board of Directors. Dr. Sugar’s experience in current board of director roles with industry giants such as Apple, Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) and Chevron Corporation (NYSE: CVX) will benefit BeyondTrust’s continued growth and leadership in the cybersecurity market.
During Dr. Sugar’s tenure with Northrop Grumman, the company grew to become one of the world’s largest aerospace and defense companies with 120,000 employees and $35 billion in annual revenue. He was chairman of the Aerospace Industries Association, a member of the National Academy of Engineering, and a fellow of both the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the Royal Aeronautical Society. He was also previously appointed by the President of the United States to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee. In addition to his roles with Apple, Inc. and Chevron Corporation, he is currently serving as a director of Amgen, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMGN) and Air Lease Corporation (NYSE: AL). He also serves as senior advisor to the private investment firm Ares Management LLC and Temasek, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund.
“BeyondTrust has emerged as a leading cybersecurity platform combating both internal and external threats,” said Dr. Sugar. “Given the ever-changing and asymmetric threat environment, corporate boards and management are increasing their attention on cyber enterprise risk. BeyondTrust’s software solutions are essential elements to a strong information security strategy. I am excited to work with Kevin Hickey, the management team and BeyondTrust’s investors at Veritas Capital to accelerate the company’s growth in this dynamic market.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Sugar to BeyondTrust’s Board of Directors,” said Kevin Hickey, President and CEO of BeyondTrust. “We look forward to tapping his wealth of strategic insights and executive experience to continue BeyondTrust’s growth.”
