Pivotal and Mirantis forge partnership

Support for Pivotal Cloud Foundry with Mirantis OpenStack delivers a turn-key, integrated cloud platform based on open technologies.

Pivotal® and Mirantis have formed a partnership aimed at integrating and delivering the Cloud Foundry®-based platform-as-a-service on OpenStack®-based cloud infrastructure. Pivotal will support Pivotal Cloud Foundry®, the leading distribution of Cloud Foundry, on Mirantis OpenStack. In addition, Mirantis will now also resell Pivotal Cloud Foundry to customers. This partnership between leaders in the Cloud Foundry and OpenStack ecosystems enables enterprises to confidently invest in a cloud stack built on integrated, open and fully supported technologies.

Pivotal Cloud Foundry is a cloud-native application platform that provides a consistent environment across DevOps scenarios, and enables role-based, self-service application deployment and service lifecycle management. Leveraging OpenStack infrastructure services, Pivotal Cloud Foundry transforms the data center into a self-healing, auto-scaling, application platform.

“Our joint customers are seeking open, bleeding-edge technologies to accelerate their software development and bring new products to market faster,” said James Watters, vice president and general manager of the Cloud Platform Group at Pivotal. “Now, with Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Mirantis OpenStack, enterprises across various industries can rapidly deliver cloud-native, scalable applications to their customers with minimal risk and maximum ROI.”

Mirantis OpenStack is the OpenStack distribution that is easy to install and operate at scale. Earlier this year, Mirantis joined the Cloud Foundry Foundation to shepherd OpenStack integration with Cloud Foundry.

“Enterprises everywhere are adopting a new generation of tools, processes and platforms to help them compete more effectively,” said Boris Renski, Mirantis CMO and co-founder. “Mirantis and Pivotal have made Pivotal Cloud Foundry deployable on Mirantis OpenStack at the click of a button, powering continuous innovation.”
