Streamwire CEO joins DCA Leadership Board

Appointment to DCA Board of Governors demonstrates Anne Stokes’ passion and dedication to supporting and growing the data centre industry.

Streamwire CEO, Anne Stokes, has been appointed to the Board of Governors at the Data Centre Alliance (DCA) in a move that will strengthen the organisation’s line-up of expertise in environmental and resource efficiency within data centres. Having spent a significant part of her career in construction and property before moving into the technology space, Anne brings a broader understanding of how IT efficiency needs to be considered in the wider context of the organisations in which it operates. A big area of her expertise is in deploying alternative energy sources for data centre estates.

Anne comments:

“We have an enormous opportunity to improve the energy and carbon efficiency of technology, particularly as the use, processing and storage of data increases exponentially across the world. The work of the DCA to raise standards in energy use, heating and cooling systems is vital for the sector to meet its climate change obligations.”

As a Board of Governors member, Anne Stokes will play a key part in industry research and programmes, while helping to encourage membership and advising the DCA on overall strategy.

Simon Campbell-Whyte, Executive Director at the DCA said: “Anne’s achievement and track record of delivering success when the conditions are challenging is outstanding. We are, as an industry, faced with many challenges as data centres become ever more critical to our economic futures and our daily lives. Therefore we’re looking forward to working with Anne and who will I’m sure, play a leading role in setting the direction of the DCA in meeting these challenges. ”

Anne concludes:

“Becoming a member of the DCA Board of Governors is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in raising awareness of the needs of the data centre industry and identifying where the gaps lie when it comes to improving innovation and sustainability. Data is part of nearly everything that we do today and the work of the DCA is critical for the UK to reduce its carbon footprint and for the government to meet its targets.”
