With support for AWS EBS Snapshots on EC2 instances, Asigra now provides the broadest end-to-end enterprise-class data protection across physical, virtual, cloud and mobile computing environments. AWS EBS Snapshot Manager BETA will be presented this week in booth #1235 at AWS re:Invent which takes place October 6-9, 2015 in Las Vegas.
According to Synergy Research, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is currently the leader in cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) with 29% marketshare, compared to Microsoft Azure (10%), IBM (7%), and Google (5%) . In addition to marketshare leadership, AWS demonstrated growth of 49% year-over-year, highlighting the demand for this service. However, organizations that leverage AWS for data storage are challenged with ensuring the protection of this data as the current processes lack a simple, automated approach.
“It is difficult to perform and manage snapshots of virtual machines in an Amazon environment—in fact, it can be painful for many administrators because of the complexity and absence of automation or policy-based controls,” said Eran Farajun, Executive Vice President, Asigra. “The free Asigra AWS EBS Snapshot Manager solves these problems while eliminating the need for companies to rely on backup or disaster recovery point solutions to ensure recovery.”
Highlights of the Asigra AWS EBS Snapshot Manager include:
• Simple management. Allows users to quickly and simply create, manage, and delete VM snapshots on AWS -- all through easy-to-set automated rules.
• Easy scheduling. Users can schedule snapshots anytime of the day, week, or month to optimize their data protection strategy.
• Single interface. Users can view and manage multiple virtual machine snapshots through a single web user interface.
