The release of the entire CloudBees Jenkins Platform on Pivotal Cloud Foundry benefits users of both Pivotal and open source Jenkins solutions, providing DevOps teams with enterprise continuous delivery capabilities such as:
? Management of all Jenkins instances across the enterprise
? Sharing of Jenkins resources between different teams within the organization
? High availability of the Jenkins infrastructure
? Single sign-on, identity and security via role-based access control functionality that is integrated with the Pivotal Cloud Foundry authentication service
? Pre-configured to use Cloud Foundry buildpacks
? The ability to execute advanced continuous delivery pipelines created with the Jenkins Workflow feature
Users of the CloudBees Jenkins Platform and Pivotal Cloud Foundry can leverage the power of Jenkins for software pipeline automation and the elasticity of the Pivotal platform to easily provision their continuous delivery infrastructure. In addition, teams can deploy applications from within the CloudBees Jenkins Platform directly to Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
Previously, customers could only obtain the products from the respective companies. Today, customers can obtain pre-configured CloudBees Jenkins Platform instances ready to use for Pivotal Cloud Foundry directly from Pivotal, eliminating the need to navigate two licensing processes.
“As customers realize the benefits of accelerating software delivery on Pivotal Cloud Foundry, they want to enable larger Jenkins clusters to deploy software directly to Pivotal Cloud Foundry, too,” said Sacha Labourey, CEO and founder, CloudBees. “Our joint customers asked us to deliver our respective solutions to them, from a single source. We listened, and we are now providing both solutions in a well-integrated, seamless process. We’re enthusiastic about the benefits working with Pivotal provides our joint customers, and we’re looking forward to generating even more future value for our customers through our collaboration with Pivotal.”
“Continuous delivery is a competitive differentiator in the enterprise today. Can you imagine having an idea for an application in the morning and running it in production by that evening? That is the power of continuous delivery,” said James Watters, vice president and general manager, Cloud Platform Group at Pivotal. "By teaming up with CloudBees, we enable enterprises to easily leverage the functionality of application delivery pipelines as a native component of the Pivotal Cloud Foundry platform. Our customers can now build and deliver software faster, with far less risk and without the overhead of managing a complex Jenkins deployment.”
