Calligo is a global cloud service provider offering mid-sized companies the highest levels of data privacy and security. After seeing a growing demand for S3-based Storage as a Service, Calligo selected Cloudian HyperStore based on its 100% S3 compatibility, in addition to its innovative feature sets such as global management. Cloudian HyperStore was also able to deliver snapshot backups direct from their SolidFire infrastructure that Calligo currently uses.
Tom Hacquoil, Chief Digital Officer at Calligo commented: “The fact that Cloudian was 100% S3-compatible was a crucial decision point for us as it ensured smooth interoperability and integration with other cloud services. Even though we reviewed other S3-based products, Cloudian’s HyperStore came out at top because its allows us to speed up the implementation of additional services. Not only that, but so far we’ve had a very positive experience with the Cloudian team, who have helped this deployment to run smoothly.”
Calligo deployed a fault tolerant, disaster resilient service with Cloudian HyperStore appliances across two data centers. Calligo plans to expand to a global network of Cloudian-based cloud services. They are currently developing a strategy for data placement within their cloud offerings, which will enable Cloudian to cover areas including backups, archives and general storage as service offering. Since the Cloudian deployment, Calligo has been able to provide cost effective and easy to manage cloud storage to its customers.
