Luminet to enable intelligence in Equinix data centres

NFV cloud platform capabilities to be showcased at Innovation Through Interconnection.

Luminet has launched its ‘NFV cloud platform.’ The new platform gives increased visibility and control over mobile, corporate, M2M, WiFi and BYOD networks.
Luminet’s ‘NFV cloud platform’ has been integrated into Equinix data centres. It is pioneering a new approach to connectivity and network control, with support for M2M and IOT networks. The platform provides unique visibility - with operational insight, application level monitoring, usage reporting and historical insight - enabling customers to focus and predict their network activity more effectively.
It also gives customers an unprecedented level of control, with application prioritisation and content filtering, making networks work more efficient. The platform is supported by advanced security network protection capabilities.
Luminet’s secure, scalable central cloud platform will enable customers to lower IT hardware, software and support costs whilst increasing user engagement. Each module is scalable to one Tbps and one million events a day. The platform can either be used to open up new revenue streams for CSP and enterprise in a self-service, secure global platform, which is available over 370 Mobile Network Operators in 120 countries, with flat rate EU pricing.
Russell Poole, UK Managing Director, Equinix: “We are pleased to be the organisation of choice for Luminet’s ‘NFV cloud platform’ and are confident that the partnership will benefit both parties. Access to Equinix’s Cloud Exchange and Platform Equinix through our IBX data centres will ensure high-performance and provide the global platform for Luminet to make the most of the interconnected era.”
Sasha Williamson, CEO, Luminet: “Equinix’s data centres are uniquely specified to enable and facilitate international business – with our intelligence platform customers can now also view, control and protect everything that’s connected. In this era of interconnectivity, having this layer of intelligence is paramount to make networks work even harder, which will ultimately lower costs and improve the user experience.”
