The Marbach Group, a leading large packaging materials manufacturer headquartered in Germany, has deployed firewalls from Clavister, a leader in high performance security solutions, to secure its global IT network.

Working with its German IT consultancy and system integrator Stainczyk & Partners, Marbach has deployed Clavister firewalls in High Availability (HA) clusters, implementing two highly scalable appliances in a multistage installation at every Marbach site.

The Clavister solution was selected as it delivers robust, high performance and scalable security, enabling Marbach to respond to its changing requirements according to the company’s needs.  The solution can expand to meet the company’s growth and is capable of securely delivering 14 x 1GbE Ethernet interfaces. In addition, the IT tem can manage the entire firewall estate via the central management platform Clavister InControl.

"In addition to the good price-performance ratio and the easy management of the Clavister appliances we were impressed by the wide range of update options," said Gregory Dunica, Head of IT Marbach. "The Clavister solution offers excellent scalability via the Software Subscription which enables us to utilise additional product license updates to meet any future performance increases we require. This enables us to multiply the VPN, IPSec or plaintext throughput without additional investment. We have been very impressed by the expertise and support that we have received from both Stainczyk & Partners and Clavister in providing technical assistance."

Jim Carlsson, Clavister CEO, commented: “The German market is critical to our growth plans and we are delighted that we are establishing our credentials in Germany with deployments such as Marbach. It is a testament to the quality of our solutions that the Marbach Group has deployed them to secure their global IT network. As cyber-criminals increasingly target the data that businesses hold, robust, scalable, high performance, high availability security solutions will be key to ensuring that the integrity of networks is maintained.”

The Marbach Group was founded in 1923 and is headquartered in Heilbronn, operating internationally with 1,300 employees worldwide.  In addition to tools for packaging production and equipment and materials for production support it produces tools for a wide range of services.
Clavister’s solutions range from entry level next-generation firewalls (NGFW) in desktop-sized packages, to Virtual Series Gateways that enable the highest levels of throughput, offering six nines (99.9999%) availability for carrier-grade security in the most demanding network environments.
