Colt Data Centre Services announces record pre-launch take-up for Inzai 2 Data Centre

Colt Data Centre Services says  that anchor capacity for its forthcoming Inzai 2 data centre has already been taken, making it the most successful pre-launch of a data centre in the company’s history. This milestone comes as the site transitions from generator to mains power connection, marking a key milestone ahead of handover of the initial phase of the site which is expected later this year.

Inzai 2 will be the company’s fourth data centre in Japan. The facility has been commissioned to meet growing regional demand for colocation and cloud services, as well as support the company’s long-term growth plans in Asia. Inzai 2 is the largest facility currently under construction in the global Colt DCS portfolio.

Based across six floors, the facility will provide 10 500m2 halls (two per floor), with a floor dedicated to storage, electrical and HVAC resources, and a mezzanine floor for offices and workspaces.

Key features of Inzai 2
  • 15MW carrier-neutral data centre facility ?
  • 5,000m2 of white space capacity
  • Infrastructure will support up to 12KW per rack ?
  • Located 32km from Tokyo ?

“At this milestone point, with Inzai 2 moving closer to completion and transitioning from generator to mains power, we are pleased to announce that the region’s biggest cloud service providers are already confirming their support for the site with bookings that will see Inzai 2 populated from day one,” said Detlef Spang, CEO of Colt DCS. “These providers need reliable, well-placed and highly- connected colocation facilities from which to service the APAC region, one of the key growth areas in the global cloud market. Inzai 2 delivers this with a highly-scalable location ideally placed to support major cities across Japan including Tokyo.”

Inzai 2, along with the existing Inzai 1 data centre, will be managed from a single control centre, and will be served by a team of bi-lingual staff on site, able to respond to the needs of customers across both buildings on the Inzai campus. Colt DCS is unique in its ability to leverage highly-skilled staff in- house to manage its facilities and support customers, rather than relying solely on external professionals.

The site leverages the latest in data and physical security measures, meeting the latest ISO and ISMS standards for security. These include advanced biometrics, air locks and multiple points of verification to prevent unauthorised access to the site.

The first phase of Inzai 2 will be formerly handed over to Colt DCS in October, when 1,000m2 of space will be made available. The remaining facilities will be handed over in a further four 1,000m2 tranches.
