KPN, a Dutch landline and mobile telecommunications company and iland have formed  a partnership that will see iland's DRaaS solutions made available to new and existing KPN business customers. KPN stated that the partnership was motivated by the security and scalability of iland’s solutions and its rapid implementation capabilities, whilst iland cited the alliance with KPN as being evidence of its concerted and strategic approach to a more channel focused direction across EMEA.

iland’s DRaaS solutions are available to all KPN customers, regardless of whether their infrastructure is hosted on-premises or in a multi-cloud environment. The partnership with iland is in line with KPN's multi-cloud strategy in which the company seeks more cooperation with partners instead of developing its own services and setting up data centres. The physical presence of iland in the Netherlands with a data centre in Amsterdam (opened in the summer of 2017) played an important role in the final choice for the cloud supplier.

Anton Rietveld, Commercial Product Manager at KPN comments: “Thanks to our partnership with iland, we can now offer disaster recovery as-a-service to on-premises customers. We specifically searched for a solution that can manage large amounts of data. There are few parties who can deliver what iland offers. It isn’t a coincidence that iland is at the top of Gartner’s Quadrant. "

In addition to iland's solution stack, the physical positioning of iland’s data centre in Holland was a major contributing factor in KPN's choice. Anton Rietveld continued: “The partners we work with must be fully compliant and comply with GDPR legislation. The fact that iland has the ability to store data in Amsterdam is therefore crucial for us. "

iland sees a huge market opportunity for channel partners who are already well versed with VMware, Veeam, Zerto and other virtualization products to diversify their businesses into Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Cloud Backup and Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) and has been actively recruiting channel partners in the Netherlands.

Stuart Day, Director of Channel Sales at iland comments: “This is an incredibly exciting time for iland as we expand our global footprint and increase our focus on working with channel partners to deliver value to customers. We have made a dedicated effort to building out a robust managed service channel programme and we see our partnership with well renowned organisations like KPN as bearing testament to that. The demand for cloud-based backup and DR solutions is huge and growing quickly and our partnership with KPN will enable the organisation to enhance its service offering to key customers. We are delighted with the continued growth we are experiencing across Europe and look forward to continuing to help European customers adopt business-critical cloud initiatives.”
