Rackspace has introduced Rackspace Service Blocks for Manged Public Cloud, allowing more businesses across EMEA to realise the benefits of cloud by customising and changing their services as needed.

The way businesses consume cloud is changing rapidly, with CIOs under pressure to accelerate cloud adoption while achieving the benefits of flexibility, agility, and cost savings. To achieve this, cloud consumption has evolved beyond merely scaling platforms up or down. Each business and each project will face changing requirements for support and technical expertise.

Rackspace Service Blocks is a subscription-based consumption model of cloud services designed to address these constantly changing pressures. It allows customers to select, combine, add or change on-demand cloud services to address their unique needs.

Through Rackspace Service Blocks, customers are guided by certified cloud experts on any need, whether that be support in architecting and deploying their cloud, or providing expertise and advanced technical resources to help build complex cloud operations.

The service empowers customers to tap into more than 3,000 cloud experts and technical professionals at Rackspace that can support on migration, operational support, tooling, cost governance, complex cloud operations, such as Kubernetes and serverless computing, and more.

Rackspace Service Blocks enables customers to take advantage of:

  • Increased customisation – Customers can select and combine service blocks to build customised solutions that meet the unique business and project requirements.
  • Greater flexibility – With needs shifting over time, the model allows customers to change and grow services at any point. This not only helps avoid lock-in to temporary service requirements, it also enables customers to quickly respond to their changing cloud environment.
  • Maximised Value – Rackspace delivers the specific services and support needed, reducing unnecessary cloud management costs and allowing businesses to refocus resources on mission-critical outcomes.

Lee James, CTO, EMEA at Rackspace said: “No two cloud journeys are the same, which is why our EMEA go-to-market strategy is truly customer-centric, with every solution built around each specific customer’s needs. Service Blocks allows us to take this customisation a step further and launching it in EMEA will serve to strengthen our offering in the market.”

Nick Henry, General Manager, Managed Public Cloud, EMEA at Rackspace said: “We’ve helped a range of customers with successful cloud journeys and through this learned a lot about the needs of today’s businesses. There is more demand than ever for total customisation and this is where Service Blocks comes in. We go beyond just enabling customers to scale up and down across cloud platforms, allowing them to choose the right service for their needs, whether that be support for architecting and deploying their cloud ,or providing expertise and advanced technical resources to help them build complex cloud operations.”
