Telehouse runs London 10k, raising money for local Tower Hamlets charities

A team of 25 employees from global colocation provider, Telehouse International Corporation of Europe, participated in the Saucony London 10K run this weekend, raising £6,000 for two local charities: First Love Foundation and Leaders in Community.

Telehouse has long been an advocate for supporting local initiatives, particularly in areas where they operate. The funds raised from the 10K run will help to contribute to the essential work carried out by these charities.

First Love Foundation started as a foodbank but has evolved to tackle the deeper issues of poverty and crisis, offering rapid, person-centric support to help individuals get their lives back on track. This includes stopping wrongful evictions, supporting domestic abuse victims, and reclaiming benefits for those in need. The charity’s innovative model is now being shared with other foodbanks to enhance their impact.

Leaders in Community focuses on empowering young people in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, one of London’s most deprived areas. Through their Youth Leadership and Youth Social Action initiatives, they equip young people with the skills and opportunities to overcome barriers, build careers, and contribute positively to their community. The charity is peer-led, with a majority of its committee members being young individuals who have directly benefited from its programmes.

In addition to the recent run, Telehouse is working closely with both charities on other initiatives that will help to make a difference to the lives of people living within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. These efforts will support the charities to expand their services and in their continued efforts to reach more individuals in need.

Mark Pestridge, Executive Vice President & General Manager at Telehouse Europe said: “At Telehouse, we strongly believe in giving back to the communities we are part of. Our participation in the London 10K and our ongoing support for First Love Foundation and Leaders in Community reflect our dedication to making a positive difference. By supporting these organisations, we aim to address immediate needs and contribute to long-term community resilience. This aligns with our broader environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy, which emphasizes community engagement and social inclusion.”
