Managed IT and cyber security services provider, Littlefish, appoints new CEO

After nearly 14 years at the helm of Littlefish, the business’s CEO – Steve Robinson – has chosen to hand over the day to day running of the business, while still being actively involved in its growth.

With the business on a firm trajectory towards £100m turnover, and with an ever-expanding portfolio of capabilities (particularly enhanced by the recent acquisition of Storm Technologies in Ireland) both Steve and the board felt the time was right to appoint a new CEO to steer the business through the later stages of its current plan, and subsequently onwards into the next phase of growth and evolution.

To that end, Littlefish is very excited to announce the appointment of Ursula Morgenstern. Ursula brings with her an extensive background in professional services, digital transformation, and IT outsourcing, having most recently served as President of Growth Markets at Cognizant. Prior to this, she spent more than 18 years at Atos, where she held a number of leadership roles, including CEO of Germany and UK/Ireland, as well as leading the Business & Platform Solutions global technology division.

In her new role at Littlefish, Morgenstern will focus on expanding the company’s service range and revenue mix, while continuing the strong growth journey that has positioned Littlefish as a key challenger in the managed services space.

Ursula will join Littlefish in September. After conducting a short handover with Ursula, Steve will continue to work with the business in an advisory role focused on commercial management and new business conversion. He will also retain a seat on the board.

With 14 years under his belt and having grown Littlefish – largely on an organic basis until the recent acquisition – from £1m turnover in 2010 to a current run rate of ~£70m, Steve steps aside from his role with the business in rude health, and with continued significant growth prospects to exploit (both organically and inorganically).

“It’s been extremely hard work, of course” comments Steve, “but it’s been a hugely interesting, fun, and rewarding journey made possible by the people of Littlefish, both past and present, who have enabled - and I hope also enjoyed and benefited from – our exceptional growth and successes”.

“I’m hugely confident that Ursula will take over the reins and continue to steer Littlefish on our ‘David vs Goliath’ mission against the usual suspects. I look forward to working with Ursula in the future, and hope to continue to play a part (if not slightly reduced now) in Littlefish’s future success”.

On her appointment to Littlefish, Morgenstern commented that

“I am excited to join Littlefish with its strong customer-centric culture at such an exciting time. The acquisition of Storm, continued investment in cyber security, and consistent strong performance in managed services, will allow us to further drive growth. I look forward to working with our talented teams in the UK and Ireland”.
