GreenScale announces the acquisition of Tonstad DataPark, its newest data centre development. Located in the municipality of Sirdal in West Agder County (NO2), Norway, Tonstad DataPark spans a 420,000 square metre site with 300MVA of grid capacity, approved by Glitre Nett and Statnett - making it the largest data centre development of its kind in Norway. The campus is planned as a four data centre development, with an expected investment of over €2.5 billion, and first capacity targeted for 2027.
Located within one of Europe’s largest generators of wholesale green energy, Tonstad DataPark benefits from Norway’s national energy production, which comes from almost 100% renewable sources, primarily hydropower and wind. This exciting new development will enable GreenScale to deliver a large-scale campus purpose-built for HPC, hyperscale, cloud, and AI workloads, offering customers some of Europe’s most competitive energy costs. At the same time, it reinforces GreenScale’s commitment to grid stability, renewable energy use, and delivering meaningful benefits to the local community.
