Lantronix Inc. has announced that Teal Drones, a Red Cat Holdings Inc. subsidiary, has selected its TAA- and NDAA- compliant solutions to produce Black Widow™ drones for the U.S. Army's Short-Range Reconnaissance Program.

Lantronix's commitment to compliance is noteworthy. Their solution, powered by the Qualcomm® Dragonwing™ QRB5165 processor, not only delivers Edge AI processing but also ensures adherence to rigorous U.S. security stipulations. This compliance enables deployment in sensitive Department of Defense missions, offering a distinctive edge in the defence and autonomous systems sectors.

Teal Drones, listed among a select group of Blue UAS-approved small Unmanned Aerial Systems vendors, must meet strict cybersecurity, operational and safety standards.. The collaboration harnesses Lantronix's offerings to meet these stringent benchmarks, thus empowering frontline missions with real-time intelligence.

With the global drone market anticipated to ascend to $57.8 billion by 2030, Lantronix stands at the forefront. The company's association with secure defence applications propels its growth, promising high-margin returns over the coming years.

Jeff Thompson, CEO of Red Cat said “Lantronix’s solution enables us to meet the U.S. Army’s rigorous TAA and NDAA compliance standards under the SRR Program — a level of assurance few providers can match.”

“Lantronix has established itself as a leader in the Edge AI market, delivering innovative, compliance driven solutions for the growing drone sector,” said Saleel Awsare, CEO and president of Lantronix. “Our collaboration with Teal Drones underscores our ability to bring secure, high performance products to market at scale, creating long term opportunities with leading global brands.”

Lantronix's scalable, compliance-driven platform supports rapid product development, crucial for businesses like Teal Drones aiming to mark their presence in defence arenas. This alignment positions Lantronix favourably for future defence and industrial IoT projects, ensuring compliance with TAA and NDAA standards.
