Telehouse paves way for cutting-edge data centre in London Docklands

Telehouse International breaks ground on its £275m Telehouse West Two data centre, supporting technological advancements with sustainable design.

In an ambitious move, Telehouse International Corporation of Europe has commenced construction on the Telehouse West Two data centre, nestled at their renowned London Docklands campus, Europe's most connected data centre hub. This colossal £275 million investment is anticipated to reach completion in 2028. An alliance with Flynn Management & Contracting Ltd. and Jones Engineering Group will see the project to fruition, delivering cutting-edge infrastructure design.

Strategically grounded near London's financial nucleus, the data centre is primed to support the burgeoning emergence of technologies like AI. By assimilating both air and liquid cooling systems, it caters to high-density computing needs, ensuring scalability without compromise. Central to its connectivity are two meet-me rooms and four dedicated connectivity risers.

The facility's design emphasises sustainability and security, promising 99.999% uptime to guarantee uninterrupted customer operations. Adhering to BREEAM Excellent standards, it showcases superior environmental performance and is powered by 100% renewable energy. Efficiency remains paramount with low WUE and PUE, bolstered by heat recovery and HVO-fuelled generators.

This venture signifies a strategic chapter in Telehouse’s long-term commitment to London's infrastructure landscape, reinforcing its 35-year legacy here. It further augments their global trajectory, supporting the voracious demand for advanced digital infrastructures and nurturing businesses’ digital transformations.

The nine-storey edifice, spanning 32,000m², offers 11,292m² of white space across six levels, accommodating diverse client needs. Power is assured by two 132kV substations delivering 11kV across the campus. Each floor handles up to 4.4MW of power, ensuring future scalability. Security remains uncompromised with stringent multi-tiered measures and continuous surveillance.
