In response to increasing demand for scalable data centre infrastructure, EXFO, a company in the communications sector, has introduced a testing solution that includes 24-fibre testers. The products are designed to support the requirements of hyperscale and AI-driven data centre deployments.

The solution has been developed to support hyperscale operators as data centre capacity continues to expand. According to EXFO, the testers are intended to enable customers to scale operations in line with growing demand associated with AI and high-capacity network deployments.

The latest additions to EXFO’s product range include:
  • FTB-Lite 975 – A certifier supporting simplex, duplex and multi-fibre bidirectional testing. It includes features such as end-to-end automation and hands-free testing.
  • PXM/LXM Duplex – An optical loss test set (OLTS) designed for 24-fibre environments and intended to support testing requirements with reliability.
These instruments are positioned to support testing workflows with the aim of improving efficiency, accuracy and testing speed in data centre environments.

The solution incorporates additional features and technologies, including:
  • SmartRef technology for fibre validation and error diagnosis.
  • Touchless testing systems with a focus on optical return loss (ORL) improvements.
  • The FIP-500 tool, which applies AI-assisted analysis for fibre connector inspection.
The platform covers Tier-1 OLTS certification as well as OTDR troubleshooting for high-fibre installations.

The solution was demonstrated at industry events including Data Center World in London (booth #B202) and OFC 2026 in Los Angeles (booth #523).

EXFO has introduced what it describes as native 24-fibre testers to address the needs of high-fibre data centre deployments. The product line is positioned to support testing and documentation requirements in hyperscale environments and expanding infrastructure projects.
