Cato Networks, a provider of converged cybersecurity solutions for the AI era, has launched a modular adoption model for its Cato SASE Platform. The approach enables enterprises to begin with the capabilities they need and expand over time.

Some vendors describe their offerings as platforms while delivering a set of separate products that are loosely integrated. This approach can simplify procurement but may also introduce operational complexity.

Cato’s model allows organisations to tailor networking and security adoption. Modules such as AI Security, SD-WAN, SSE, and Universal ZTNA can be deployed individually or in combination depending on requirements. Each module is designed to operate as an enterprise-grade solution on its own.

When additional modules are added, they operate within a converged architecture that includes a unified management console, a consistent policy framework, and integrated data analytics.

The Cato SASE Platform combines networking and security into a cloud-native system designed to provide centralised control and shared intelligence, with the aim of improving visibility and supporting threat detection and response.

The platform is built on the Cato Neural Edge, a GPU-supported infrastructure with more than 85 points of presence globally, designed to support connectivity and security at scale.

Key modules include:
  • AI Security: Secures AI-related interactions, including shadow AI and AI applications.
  • SD-WAN: Provides software-defined wide area networking without traditional hardware requirements and with high availability.
  • SSE: Enables secure access to internet, SaaS and private applications with consistent security policies.
  • Universal ZTNA: Applies consistent, risk-based access policies across users and locations.
In July 2025, Cato Networks was recognised as a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for SASE Platforms.
