Integration of Youwind and Shoreline Wind enhances wind energy planning

Youwind and Shoreline Wind's new partnership offers a lifecycle solution for wind energy projects, aiding developers with planning and execution.

Youwind and Shoreline Wind have formed a strategic partnership to provide an integrated solution for wind energy businesses. The collaboration is intended to support the full project lifecycle, from early-stage site assessment through to construction, operations, and ongoing maintenance.

The integration is designed to enable a connected workflow from Youwind’s site screening and design tools through to Shoreline Wind’s AI-based construction and maintenance systems. It supports continuity of data across project stages, including a digital record that extends from design through to operational (“go live”) phases, with additional support through integration with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Youwind provides software for wind farm layout design and yield optimisation, supporting developers and project planners in identifying potential sites and developing business cases for new and repowered wind projects. Shoreline Wind provides AI-based simulation tools aimed at supporting planning, cost estimation, risk management, and operational performance analysis across the wind farm lifecycle.

Through the integration, users can access a connected platform linking Youwind’s cloud-based tools for onshore and offshore developments with Shoreline Wind’s systems. This includes the ability to transfer project data such as layouts and hybrid configurations, with the aim of maintaining data consistency and supporting improved forecasting accuracy.

The combined offering includes access to modelling inputs such as turbine availability and operational expenditure (OPEX), which can be used to inform early-stage yield assessments and project evaluation.

The partnership addresses the historically separate workflows between pre-construction planning and operational management in the wind sector. It is intended to improve continuity between these phases and support more consistent project development and operational planning.

Both organisations have worked with selected clients during the development of the integration, using real-world use cases to refine functionality. The resulting workflow is intended to support more consistent project planning and coordination across project stakeholders and the broader supply chain.
