Strategic cyber alliance strengthens identity resilience

Hack The Box and Semperis form an alliance to strengthen cybersecurity through hands-on skills development and identity security strategies.

Hack The Box (HTB), which provides cyber security training and readiness platforms, and Semperis, a company focused on identity-driven cyber resilience, have announced a collaboration. The partnership combines Semperis’ hybrid identity security expertise with HTB’s practical cyber readiness platform. The aim is to improve the skills, workflows, and response capabilities of security teams in dealing with identity-based threats.

In current environments shaped by AI developments and increased operational complexity, identity security is widely considered an important area of focus. Many organisations face challenges in detecting and responding to cyber threats targeting systems such as Active Directory, Entra ID, Okta, and Ping Identity in a timely manner. The collaboration reflects a broader industry emphasis on combining technology investments with workforce preparedness.

HTB and Semperis state that their collaboration is based on a shared focus on improving cyber resilience and identity security capabilities. Semperis’ “force for good” concept and HTB’s focus on hands-on cyber education are both positioned within this context of improving organisational readiness.

HTB and Semperis plan to focus on:

  • Advancing collaborative work related to Purple Knight, an open-source tool used to assess identity security vulnerabilities in Active Directory and Entra ID environments.
  • Developing educational materials based on Semperis’ threat research.
  • Participating in joint events at industry conferences, including the Hybrid Identity Protection Conference and other similar events.
  • Supporting customer and partner readiness programmes that combine identity threat expertise with HTB’s training labs and exercises.

The announcement highlights identity resilience as an area of focus both for technology and workforce capability. The collaboration is intended to support organisations in improving how they understand and respond to identity-related security threats.
