Thomson Snell & Passmore selects Workshare for secure file sharing and collaboration

Thomson Snell & Passmore (TSP), a top UK law firm, has selected secure enterprise collaboration provider Workshare to enable its workforce of lawyers to securely share, synchronize, and collaborate on sensitive documents from any device. The move is part of the firm’s wider business strategy to simplify its processes by leveraging Workshare’s integrated SaaS and desktop applications to control access and to ensure all hidden metadata is removed from documents before they are shared.

Working with a wide range of partners and clients, TSP recognized the need for a highly secure application that would allow its employees to collaborate with each other, partners and clients from any location and on any device. Workshare will also allow TSP’s lawyers to maintain a comprehensive audit trail when sharing sensitive documents outside of the corporate network – a key requirement for highly regulated markets.
David Bennett, Head of Information Systems at TSP commented, “As part of our strategy to transition to SaaS, it was important that we found a supplier that could host our data and documents in the UK. Workshare gives us complete control, as its applications have been built from the ground up to meet the most demanding enterprise requirements, while still being simple to use.”

Anthony Foy, CEO at Workshare concluded, “TSP works in a highly regulated market, where ensuring that customer and company information remains secure is not a bonus, but a requirement. With lawyers today having to work on the move using their mobiles, tablets, and laptops, legal firms like TSP have adapted by providing their teams with the applications they need to collaborate and manage highly sensitive data effectively. TSP is raising the bar for the legal industry, and we hope that they will be a blueprint for other firms looking to leverage our highly secure file sharing and collaboration applications.”

Workshare integrates with apps such as Microsoft Office and Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and ECM/DMS systems including SharePoint, OpenText, EMC Documentum, and Autonomy iManage.
