Alert Logic prepares for global expansion

Alert Logic, a leading provider of Security-as-a-Service solutions for the cloud, has announced the appointment of David Howorth as Vice President of Sales in the UK. In this new position, Howorth will oversee building the UK sales team as Alert Logic begins its expansion into Europe.

Howorth joins Alert Logic from Verizon Enterprise Solutions’ Global Strategic Services, where he most recently served as Area Vice President, Verizon Enterprise Solutions Global Strategic Services. During his tenure at Verizon, Howorth held numerous leadership positions, including Regional Vice President EMEA of both the Security Solutions and the Cloud & IT business units. In these positions, Howorth played a key role in the successful launch adoption of cloud and security services in EMEA as well as developing numerous strategic partnerships in support of outcome-based cloud solutions.

“Alert Logic’s successful global expansion is key to our growth strategy for 2014,” said Gray Hall, CEO at Alert Logic. “David’s expertise in the areas of cloud and security, coupled with his leadership experience in establishing and maintaining global teams for a major solution provider makes him an ideal fit to lead our expansion into the UK.”

Prior to Verizon, Howorth held leadership positions at several security startups, including Vice President of Sales at NetSec and Sales Director of Defcom. These roles came after a successful nine-year career in the insurance industry where he worked at Heath Lambert plc, in their Financial Institutions and Professional Indemnity division. Howorth received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southampton.
