VibeVPS cuts the cost of high-end cloud hosting with OnApp, Dell and PEER1

Launches aggressively-priced cloud services for large enterprises and SMEs, using a pre-configured software and hardware package with integrated storage for rapid time-to-market.

VibeVPS has launched a new range of cloud services running on the OnApp cloud platform. VibeVPS built its new cloud using Dell hardware packages pre-configured for OnApp, together with OnApp’s integrated storage system. This enabled the company to launch its cloud quickly, and offer high performance hosting with very competitive pricing. VibeVPS now offers enterprise-grade hosting services starting at just £9.99 per month.

OnApp and Dell offer a range of pre-configured packages for cloud providers, which combine the OnApp cloud platform with racks, servers, storage, networking, cabling, power and support for a simple monthly fee. Using pre-configured hardware enabled VibeVPS to take its new cloud to market quickly, without spending time choosing and configuring its cloud infrastructure. VibeVPS hosts its cloud in a state-of-the-art datacenter operated by PEER1 Hosting.

"OnApp is the natural choice for any hosting company moving to the cloud, and Dell servers are simply phenomenal: nothing can match them for the price,” said Peter Duggal, Managing Director of VibeVPS. “When OnApp and Dell teamed up to create a ready-to-roll cloud platform, we knew this is what we'd been waiting for, and with hosting from PEER1 we had everything we needed. It’s a great combination, and we’re already growing fast on the new platform."

Dell offers three pre-configured hardware packages for OnApp, designed for small, mid-sized and larger clouds, with a range of storage options. VibeVPS built its cloud using OnApp Storage, which creates a high-performance storage system using disks distributed across its cloud servers, rather than using a centralized SAN.
"With OnApp we don't need a separate SAN: we can use disks in our Dell servers and get great performance," Peter Duggal said. "Integrated storage also means that, as our cloud grows and we add more servers, our storage capacity grows too, in line with CPU and RAM. Managing our cloud is as simple as it was in the shared hosting days: you fill up a server, then add another, making forecasting, planning and scaling much easier."
