Eduserv launches Cloud migration service

Eduserv, the not-for-profit cloud services provider, has launched a service to migrate customers to Pan Government Accredited cloud, helping government tackle security concerns around cloud adoption.

The migration service comes in response to buyer research conducted by Eduserv, which revealed that around half (49%) of IT decision makers in government are still concerned about security in the cloud.

The launch coincides with Eduserv becoming one of the first organisations to have their IL3 cloud services awarded full accreditation in line with the government’s new security classifications.

Ivan Harris, Cloud Business Manager for Eduserv, said:
“There are a number of contributing factors to government having concerns about security in the cloud. Our research also revealed that a third (32%) of civil servants said that the American National Security Agency revelations from Edward Snowden had changed their attitudes and behaviour around cloud use.

We felt it wasn’t enough to just provide accredited cloud services; we wanted to support our customers throughout their cloud migration journey. Our migration services are designed to provide reassurance that government can achieve the benefits of cloud and increase security. We offer help with the planning, migration and service management of cloud solutions to help organisations migrate OFFICIAL data to accredited cloud services.”

Harris concludes: “Our accredited cloud services are available via the Public Services Network from our own UK data centre. This is important for providing secure access for central and local government departments.”
