Watchful Software releases RightsWATCH 6.0

Offers enhanced BYOD and MDM capabilities.

Watchful Software has released version 6.0 of RightsWATCH, its award winning data-centric information security solution. This newest version extends the RightsWATCH leading-edge mobile information protection capabilities, broadly strengthens the dynamic watermarking and automatic classification policy features, and delivers advanced Mobile Device Management (MDM) integration for larger enterprises.

Strengthening RightsWATCH support for RMS-protected contents on mobile devices, version 6.0 features integration with MobileIron and Good MDM platforms to more easily allow enterprises to equip their users with the ability to use Rights Management Services (RMS) protected content on their mobile devices. Enterprise management features such as application deployment through the MDM infrastructure, pre-configuration of network and credentialing parameters, single sign-on, remote wiping, and secure tunneling are some of the supported aspects of the MDM integration. Further, RightsWATCH 6.0 makes it even easier to consume RMS protected files, such as those from Microsoft Office, on the mobile device regardless of origin (email, internet, file shares, etc.).

“RightsWATCH 6.0 for iOS and Android takes the RightsWATCH family far ahead of other solutions in regards to enterprise deployment and support,” explains Rui Melo Biscaia, Director of Product Management at Watchful Software. “Integration with key MDM vendors makes it that much easier to get a fast ROI by extending the information security paradigm to the mobile platforms with little additional effort, and extending the RightsWATCH mobile app features to allow opening RMS-protected MS Office files on Android and iOS devices is a key milestone taking mobile information security to a new level. Watchful Software is strongly committed to providing RightsWATCH users and customers the very best user experience and convenience, hence now users are able to fully handle RMS-protected emails as well as Office and PDF on their smartphones and tablets.”

For regulatory, compliance, and audit enhancements, RightsWATCH 6.0 now allows dynamic watermarks to be automatically added to MS Office and PDF files. “The location of headers, footers and watermarks is customizable by administrators and can contain not only pre-defined text such as an information classification, but also real-time variables such as the user email and username, IP address, or date/time,” details Rui Melo Biscaia. “Dynamic watermarking reminds users of the document classification, such as “Company Confidential”, and the user-specific information shown on the document acts as a deterrent to unauthorized redistribution of the document. If a printed copy of a sensitive document shows up someplace it shouldn’t – the source of unauthorized redistribution can be determined by simply looking at the watermark.”
