(ISC)²® (“ISC-squared”) has announced the dates of the first EMEA training seminars and boot camps for its newly launched CCSP certification, created with the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). (ISC)² and the CSA developed the CCSP certification to meet a critical market need to ensure that cloud security professionals have the required knowledge, skills and abilities to audit, assess and secure cloud infrastructures.

(ISC)²’s recently released 2015 Global Information Security Workforce Study revealed signs of strain within the industry and a widening skills gap in cloud computing. New UK statistics from the survey reveal how the shortfall is affecting cloud adoption and the increasing security concern around cloud:

· 48% of information security workers cite cloud-based services as a concern when it comes to security threats.
· Almost half (47%) of workers said that a lack of in-house skills was a reason for outsourcing.
· Over two-thirds (68%) in the telecoms industry list cloud services as a top security threat, while 55% in the banking sector, 50% in Government, 40% in defence and 60% in utilities said the same.
· 61% of all information security workers say cloud computing is where they see growing demand for training and education within the next three years.
· 44% say that virtualised or cloud security services are important factors driving effective security.
Dr. Adrian Davis, CISSP, managing director for EMEA, (ISC)² explains the significance: “It’s no secret that cloud adoption in Europe has been growing substantially in recent years and continues to rise. As cloud becomes part of the IT infrastructure, it’s becoming more important to ensure that there are qualified IT professionals with relevant skills to manage and implement cloud securely. New UK-based statistics reveal that security professionals are still concerned about the management of cloud, especially as threats rapidly develop and increase in number. Together with CSA, we’ve developed this certification to provide IT professionals with advanced knowledge to help businesses ensure that security is a key component of cloud adoption.”

“(ISC)² and CSA have developed a comprehensive, professional level cloud security program that was created by worldwide information security and cloud computing experts. With the initial interest in CCSP since the launch in April, we’re seeing the IT industry become more aware of the need for enhanced cloud security skills, which is a step in the right direction,” says Daniele Catteddu, managing director for EMEA, CSA.
The CCSP represents the advanced skills required to secure the cloud, while establishing an international standard for professional-level knowledge in the design, implementation and management of cloud environments. (ISC)² and CSA announced the initial development of the examinations in 2013 and have since created a training programme to further support professionals seeking to be recognised for their security knowledge in this area of practice.
To attain CCSP, candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience in IT, of which three must be in information security and one in cloud computing. Candidates must also demonstrate capabilities in each of the six (ISC)² Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) domains: Architectural Concepts & Design Requirements, Cloud Data Security, Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Security, Cloud Application Security, Operations and Legal and Compliance.

The CCSP exam will be available at PearsonVUE testing centres beginning 21 July, and the first training sessions will be delivered in EMEA as follows:

· (ISC)² CCSP Live OnLine Training – From 14 July to 3 September
· (ISC)² CCSP Bootcamp on 7 September (UK)
· (ISC)² CCSP Bootcamp on 23 November (UK)
