“SUSE is committed to working together with the other Cloud Foundry Foundation members to develop enterprise-grade solutions for customers and expanding the ways SUSE OpenStack Cloud can increase their opportunities for business success,” said Nils Brauckmann, president and general manager of SUSE.
Cloud Foundry Foundation is an independent, non-profit organisation formed to sustain the development, promotion and adoption of Cloud Foundry as the global industry standard for open platform-as-a-service (PaaS). Cloud Foundry makes it faster and easier to build, test, deploy and scale applications. SAP is a platinum member of Cloud Foundry Foundation and is working to help make Cloud Foundry an enterprise-grade cloud platform for developing and running next-generation cloud applications.
Sam Ramji, CEO of Cloud Foundry, said, “SUSE has emerged as a top figure in the cloud community and is out front as an OpenStack private cloud infrastructure provider. SUSE’s contributions will be invaluable to expanding Cloud Foundry’s reach.”
SUSE to collaborate with SAP on OpenStack Cloud Provider Interface
The SAP-led Cloud Foundry OpenStack CPI project aims to improve the ease with which Cloud Foundry communicates with underlying OpenStack infrastructure, whether the cloud is public or private. This will help simplify application testing and deployment for a wide range of cloud users. SUSE will collaborate closely with SAP to help ensure the cloud provider interface supports OpenStack infrastructure.
“As long-time partners, SAP has worked with SUSE to bring enterprise-class products to the Linux market via solutions such as SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications,” said Bj?rn Goerke, executive vice president and corporate officer, SAP product & innovation technology, SAP SE. “As customers increasingly move to cloud technologies, we look forward to collaborating with SUSE to help tightly integrate Cloud Foundry with OpenStack.”
