Delivering new data governance capabilities

Imperva has unveiled a new release of its Imperva Skyfence Cloud Gateway, a Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) solution.

This release includes enhanced data loss prevention (DLP) and new data governance features to help global organizations mitigate the security and compliance risks associated with employee use of file-sync services, such as Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, Box and Dropbox.
According to the Gartner Market Guide for Cloud Access Security Brokers published on October 22, 2015, “The forces of cloud and mobility fundamentally change how "packets" (and the data in them) move between users and applications. This causes a need to adjust the list and the priorities of investment in security controls for an organization consuming cloud services. Security leaders should deploy CASB for the centralized control of multiple services that would otherwise require individual management.”1
With the growing use of cloud-based file-sync services, organizations are looking for tools to gain greater visibility and control over information being sent to and stored in them to meet compliance regulations, such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOX, and to better protect sensitive data. To address this business need, Imperva Skyfence Cloud Gateway delivers new data governance capabilities that extends its DLP support by enabling organizations to scan corporate files stored in cloud-based file-sync services, identify those containing highly sensitive information or regulated data and automatically identify exposure. The Imperva Skyfence Cloud Gateway can protect against data leakage and enforce a remediation workflow tailored to each specific file. This latest release also includes new reporting that details compliance exposures, file analytics, and remediation actions.
“As enterprises employ more cloud applications for business critical functions, they need governance capabilities that are on par with those used for their on-premises applications,” said Ofer Hendler, General Manager for the Skyfence product line at Imperva. “This release of Skyfence solidifies Imperva as a leading vendor that offers integrated account and data governance capabilities for CASB.”
