Certus announced as a Dell ‘partner of the year’

A leading Welsh IT service provider has been named ‘cloud partner of the year’ at an international conference organised by Dell in Vienna.

Newport based Certus Technology Group fought off competition from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa to pick up the award at the annual ceremony celebrating IT innovation. The awards capped off Dell’s two-day EMEA Partner Director Solutions Conference in which Dell addressed over 500 international partners and discussed future plans, including an increasing focus on cloud computing.

The win follows on from the firm’s recent rapid growth, which has included expansion to new areas of the country in Hemel Hempstead and Warrington. Certus TG is the first IT provider in the UK to be officially certified as a cloud partner of Dell, and don’t appear to be slowing down after the company announced a projected turnover of ?9.5 million by the end of the year – over twice as much as the year before.

The group’s growth has mainly been fuelled by its ?2 million acquisition of Ensphere Consulting earlier this year. Its addition of Ensphere, which provides financial and payroll assistant with Sage, means that Certus TG now has a full spectrum of IT solutions across the country.

Accepting the award on behalf of Certus Technology Group was CEO, Paul Brown, who collected the award from the Dell leadership team, including founder and CEO, Michael Dell.

Paul said: “It’s a privilege to be named cloud partner of the year by Dell, which adds to an already great 2015 for us. Considering that there were over 500 partners at the awards, many of whom work with cloud systems, it’s a great achievement for us to be named the best in the sector.

“We have a close working relationship with Dell, which began with our initial business goal of achieving Dell premier partner status within a year. We pride ourselves on only selling Dell products, and, as a result, they have faith in the standard and security of the datacentres that we provide.

“This accolade is the highlight of a year where we have seen substantial growth in the UK, and with Dell recognising the quality of our work, we are even more ambitious for our own success as we move into 2016.”

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Laurent Binetti, vice president & general manager, channel, Dell EMEA, said: “Certus Technology Group is a very important channel partner for Dell in its country. Over the past four quarters it has demonstrated an exceptional growth and a strong partnership across all functions and business units.”
